I instantly fell in love with these beautiful ethnic accessories and can picture pairing them with spring’s khaki-and-white color palette. So when I learned that they are handcrafted by women in Africa who are able to sustain their healthcare, nutrition and children’s education through the sale of their products, it was a no-brainer to buy a couple of items.
Designer Rachel Roy has partnered with Fairwinds Trading Co. to co-create jobs for women in Rwanda and Tanzania. Each piece is handmade, one-of-a-kind and created using patterns and materials unique to its community of origin.
The pieces are selling now on Roy’s website.
