Goals: to renovate a traditionally styled home to better reflect the owner’s show business background.
Designer’s description: The home, built in the 1930s, is about 2,000 square feet. The renovation was to showcase the outgoing personality of Jamie King, director of Madonna and Britney Spears concert tours, among other productions. Several interior walls were removed to create an open floor plan and meet King’s wish for an intimate, glamorous home suited for entertaining. Andrews designed the daybed in the lounge, pictured at top, where King holds meetings. The chairs are vintage, Denmark circa 1958; the black-and-white floor covering is from the Rug Co. The living area flows into the patio with a pool and a cozy fire pit with built-in seating. The home also features a master suite and guest suite, both separated from the living area by olive green opaque glass walls.
