While Robert Pattinson spends his June promoting âThe Twilight Saga: Eclipse,â Summit Entertainment is working its cross-pollination magic by pushing âRemember Meâ out on DVD.
Due June 22, the romantic drama starring Pattinson and âLostâ blond Emilie de Ravin touts a major bonus feature -- a cast commentary track in which the heartthrob drops serious pearls about his filming experience.
Taking the lead for our favorite factoid: Pattinsonâs dirty journaling. Playing the broody Tyler, the actor spent most of the film scrawling mysteriously in a leather-bound notebook. âOn set I kept on going up to Rob and saying, âYouâve got to write in your journal, mate,ââ producer Nick Osbourne said.
Said Pattinson: âI remember writing all these kind of pornographic poems, whenever there was a close-up on it. Horrible, horrible things in bold capital letters.â
We can only hope a man from Nantucket was involved.
Other amazing insights into Robâs soul include ...
His sex scene was scary: Pattinson was âterrifiedâ during his boom-boom moment with De Ravin. More so, he was sympathetic to the director of photography, âwho had to look deep into my ... crack for a long time.â
His mother was appalled at the thought of a tattoo: Pattinsonâs character has his brotherâs name inked on his left pec as a memorial. When his mom saw it in the âRemember Meâ trailer, she called him immediately. âI was like, âReally, do you think I tattooed âMichaelâ on my chest?â
Fans take note -- when in Los Angeles, he reads scripts in a fast-food restaurant parking lot: âI was in an In âN Out burger car park where I used to always read scripts. ... I realized I liked the character Tyler in the first four pages.â Perhaps he celebrated with a Double-Double.
Heâs not shy about his frustrations with the paparazzi: As the filmâs New York shoot was plagued with photogs, almost every scene in the âRemember Meâ commentary comes with some anecdote about the invasive shutterbugs. âThey showed absolutely no respect for anything,â Pattinson remarks.
Big dramatic fight scenes (like in, um, âEclipseâ) bore him: Pattinson gets roughed up by costar Chris Cooper in the film, and loved every minute of it. âItâs probably the most fun Iâve ever had in a scene,â he says of being slammed against the hood of a car. âNormally the fights are so choreographed, it makes it boring.â
Rob does a mean Barney Gumble: Pattinson randomly bursts out in an impression of resident derelict Barney from âThe Simpsonsâ on the commentary track. And itâs actually pretty spot on.
Whatâs your favorite of Robâs gems? Tell us in comments.
