As we reported in January, the executive producers of âGleeâ are looking for fresh new talent to walk and sing the halls McKinley High.
With the show almost back from hiatus, Fox has just announced details on how to audition for roles expected to be introduced in the second season.
And the best part is hopefuls donât even have to leave the comfort of their own home.
Beginning Tuesday amateur and professional performers ages 16 to 26 can upload their audition tape directly to the official MySpace page, which means no long waits, overnight camping, or traveling to some predetermined city like that other Fox hit.
On the video, aspiring Gleeks must feature an explanation about why they want to be on âGlee.â Romancing Puck, being besties with Mercedes and sabotaging Rachel are all valid reasonings -- at least itâs what weâre going with for our audition.
And of course you have to sing, and itâs safe to assume quite well. Videos must include a performance of one of 10 âGleeâ songs from their songbook, which include âTrue Colors,â âYou Canât Always Get What You Wantâ and âLean on Me.â The performances can either be a cappella or with single instrument accompaniment using MySpace Karaoke. You can also upload your own pre-recorded videos.
Videos must be limited to five minutes â a one-minute introduction and a four-minute song â and are limited to one submission per person. The deadline is April 26.
Check out Matthew Morrison giving the details below in this clip from Myspace.
The spring premiere of âGleeâ airs at a special time April 13 (9:28 to 10:30 p.m. PDT) after âAmerican Idol.â
