Trevor Bauer records 15 strikeouts for unbeaten UCLA

Sophomore pitcher Trevor Bauer struck out a career-high 15 in eight-plus innings Saturday as UCLA defeated Mississippi State, 5-2, at the Whataburger Classic in Corpus Christi, Texas. UCLA improved to 12-0.

Bauer, a right-hander, duplicated the 15-strikeout performance of UCLA’s Gerrit Cole one night earlier. Bauer walked two and didn’t allow any runs until the ninth inning.

Blair Dunlap had two hits for the Bruins.
