The Kings are playing their final home game of the season today against the Oilers at Staples Center, and in keeping with tradition the team announced its annual award winners.

First, as voted by the media:

Most Valuable Player (the Bill Libby award): Anze Kopitar.

Best Newcomer (Mark Bavis award): Ryan Smyth

Outstanding defenseman: Drew Doughty.

Best defensive player: Michal Handzus.


As voted by the players:

Most Inspirational player (Ace Bailey memorial award): Matt Greene.

Unsung Hero: Michal Handzus.


As selected by the Kings Care Foundation:

Community service: Dustin Brown.


As selected by the Kings booster club:

Most Popular player: Dustin Brown.

Leading scorer: Anze Kopitar.
