Girls’ soccer: Harvard-Westlake proves me wrong

I realize defending Mission League champion Harvard-Westlake has played one doozy of a nonleague schedule this season, but with the Wolverines’ only nonleague win coming in the season opener back on Nov. 28, I figured this was the year of the Knight or Tolog.

Well, I was wrong because the Wolverines’ showed on Monday they still have the coolest kicks in town with a 3-0 victory over Notre Dame.

Haley-Jaye Boysin scored her seventh goal of the season for Harvard-Westlake in what seemed like a defiant, “what-the-heck-does-that-blogger-know-anyway” kind of performance. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out this humbling prediction.

Anyway, the Wolverines illustrated with their 20th consecutive league win that they’re definitely for real, and I shouldn’t have written them off as just mere playoff fodder. I still think Notre Dame is a talented team, but there will definitely be a three-way race for the league title.
