Cowgirls looking to win a ‘Shootout’ against Millikan

Two top 25 teams are the headline act on Saturday at the Girls Can Hoop Shootout at Long Beach Millikan High.
Millikan (12-2), ranked No. 5 by The Times this week after its upset victory Monday against then-No. 1 Long Beach Poly, has a 10-game winning streak going into its game against Compton tonight/Friday. The Rams are led by Courtney Clements, who is averaging 18.6 points.
Its opponent, No. 16 Cajon (13-2) answers with two high-scoring threats: Layshia Clarendon (20.6 points) and Darhsae Burnside (16.9 points, 17.2 rebounds) lead the Cowgirls, who also get a boost from Bjonee Reaves (12.7 points).
