A whopping eight minutes -- that’s all I needed to see why the Mira Costa girls’ basketball team can beat any team in the Southland.
It’s one quarter down tonight and the No. 8-ranked Mustangs (17-3, 5-0) are leading, 16-3, at Leuzinger in a Bay League battle. They swat passes and rule the boards with 6-foot-3 Whitney Daniels and 6-1 Mikah Maly-Karros and they finesse it down court with Megan Richardson.
Karros had eight of Mira Costa’s 16 points.
