Narbonne was less than estatic about being seeded third for the girls’ City Championship Division playoffs. But that didn’t stop the Gauchos from winning the title last Saturday, beating top-seeded Chatsworth, 68-57.

‘Three must be our number,’ Coach Victoria Sanders said. ‘We keep getting it for a reason, so it’s all good.’

Sanders went on to say that Narbonne, which hosts Southern Section Division II-AA runner-up Los Osos tonight/Monday at 7, is primed to begin a long playoff run.

‘They are playing so well, especially on the defensive end, I feel we have a chance,’ Sanders said. ‘I think that’s why they were pretty calm and relaxed at winning [the City title]. They’re looking at a bigger picture.’
