Track and field: Here are some regional standouts

Here are a few SF Valley/North athletes you may want to keep tabs on if your planning to head down the 210 to the Arcadia Invitational this weekend. Most of these standouts have at least a shot at winning and I put each athlete’s personal-best times of the season followed by an asterisk next to the names of athletes I think will win:

BOYS’ EVENTS

  • 100 Meters -- Chris Owusu (Oaks Christian), 10.74
  • 200 Meters -- Chris Owusu, (Oaks Christian), 21.30*
  • 800 Meters -- Doug Bettisworth (Oak Park), 1:54.43
  • High Jump -- Jules Sharpe (Oaks Christian), 6-10
  • Long Jump -- Ryan Butts (Antelope Valley), 22-11.75w
