Boys’ basketball: Taft improves to 19-3

Woodland Hills Taft, tuning up for a Saturday’s showdown with Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick in the Nike Extravaganza, routed Birmingham, 93-64, in the West Valley League. DeAndre Daniels had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Pierson Williams added 16 points. Taft is 19-3 and 8-0 in league.

El Camino Real defeated Chatsworth, 55-41, with Tre Holden scoring 15 points.

In the Coliseum League, Crenshaw defeated Locke, 89-42. Darnell Taylor had 21 points and Isaac Hamilton 19. Crenshaw is 16-3 and 9-0.
