L.A. Price, ranked No. 5 by The Times, demonstrated its athleticism and talent in the second quarter against La Verne Lutheran, relying on Allen Crabbe’s 12 points to take a 39-17 halftime lead.
Lutheran was outscored, 11-1, over the first 4 1/2 minutes of the second quarter in falling behind, 28-15. Richard Solomon was causing havoc for the Trojans with his shot blocking. Lutheran didn’t score a basket in the quarter.
Crabbe, largely quiet in the first quarter, started to get open on fast-break opportunities and also drilled a pair of three-pointers.
