Baseball: Banning left-hander throws one-hitter

Junior left-hander Jonathan Hernandez of Wilmington Banning struck out nine and threw a one-hitter to help the Pilots defeat Gardena, 3-0, in a Marine League game. Banning is 15-6 overall and 5-0 in league.

San Pedro strengthened its hold on second place with an 8-2 win over Narbonne. John Mata threw the complete game and Anthony Canjura went four for four. San Pedro scored six runs in the sixth inning.
