Who needs Cory Hahn on the mound? Santa Ana Mater Dei has opened a 9-0 lead over Lakewood in the bottom of the fifth inning of their Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinal playoff game at Mater Dei.

The Monarchs’ hitters have chased Lakewood ace Jeff Yamaguchi. And Ty Moore is throwing a shutout.

Jacob Medina had a two-run double and Ryan Teel a two-run single in the fifth for Mater Dei. The winner will play Simi Valley Royal in Tuesday’s semifinals.
