Contractor Group Installs Grandpre, Other Officers

Dan Grandpre of Grandpre Concrete Inc., Sun Valley, has been installed as 1984-85 president of the Southern California Contractors Assn.
Also installed by outgoing President Arnold S. Nelson of Nelson & Belding Contracting Corp. at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel were: Don McCoy, McCoy Construction Co., Woodland Hills, vice president; James Sprinkel of Vernon Paving Co., Anaheim, secretary, and Terry Peterson of A.C. Peterson Co. Inc., Downey, treasurer.
John J. Clarke, president of Clarke Contracting Corp., Compton, was chosen Contractor of the Year by the association for his contributions to end world hunger and other deserving programs. He was president of the association in 1980.
Other board members installed include: Larry Bashaw, Otton Benedict, H.C. Gross, Dean Rasmussen, Rudy Ruiz, Jon Salata, Lloyd Sukut, Harry Bihler, Lonnie Clausen, Tom Malloy, Don Minium, Ross Einboden, Larry Williams and Doyle Woods.
Grandpre started in construction in 1952 when he moved to California from Minnesota. He worked for several large engineering firms and materials suppliers before going into business for himself.
