MILWAUKEE — The American Bowling Congress has announced that Billy Hardwick of Memphis and Dave Soutar of Kansas City are among five 1985 inductees to the ABC Hall of Fame.
Hardwick, 43, and Soutar, 44, were dominant figures in bowling in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and each won 17 championships on the pro tour. Both have also been elected to the Professional Bowlers Assn. Hall of Fame.
Also elected to the ABC Hall were amateur bowler Alfie Cohn of Chicago, PBA founder Eddie Elias of Akron and the late Morehead Patterson, a bowling executive who was prominent in development of the automatic pinsetter.
Ceremonies inducting the five were scheduled for March 14 at the Tulsa Convention Center, site of the 1985 ABC tournament that starts Feb. 9.
