Four or five armed robbers burst into a Tarzana restaurant early today and raped two women customers after they forced several customers and employees to partially strip and locked them in a freezer, Los Angeles police said. The men then escaped with an unknown amount of money.
Ten customers and eight employees were present during the 1:30 a.m. robbery at JoJo’s Restaurant, 19100 Ventura Blvd. Several people were pistol-whipped but not seriously hurt, said police, who are investigating links to similar restaurant robberies in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County. Less than an hour earlier, three or four males entered the Hungry Hunter Restaurant in Ventura, forced several male employees to disrobe and locked them in a freezer along with the office manager.
