St. Francis 66, Bosco Tech 57
Host Bosco Tech High collapsed on 6-7 St. Francis center Matt Dyrek all night. The strategy worked, to a point, as Dyrek scored only four points. Golden Knight guards Dan Jordan and Braden Woods were left open, however, and shot well enough to down Bosco Tech.
Jordan hit on seven of 13 field goals en route to a 19-point performance, and Woods hit all four of his field goals and all four of his free throws for 12 points. Bryan Duffy scored 12 points as well for St. Francis and grabbed nine rebounds.
William Vasquez, 6-3 forward for Bosco Tech, scored a game-high 23 points. Mario Diaz added 16 points and Max Franco chipped in with eight.
St. Francis made 13 of 16 free throws after Bosco Tech pulled within five points with seven minutes left. Jordan had six steals, including three in the final five minutes.
The Golden Knights improved their Del Rey League record to 4-1 and are 8-8 overall. Bosco Tech fell to 2-3 in league and 7-10 overall.
