The City Council has approved the construction of three storm drains at a combined cost of $115,000.
A drain at Apple Avenue near the Santa Fe railroad tracks is expected to eliminate flooding at a low area of Apple Avenue where the street ends at the tracks.
A second drain at Camino de las Colinas near Calle Mayor will be an extension of an existing system that will take care of street water that has often gone above curbs and onto low-lying private property.
The third drain at Calle Miramar near Paseo de la Playa will increase the capacity of an existing system and alleviate recurrent flooding at the intersection of Calle Miramar and Paseo de la Playa.
The three drains are expected to be completed by August.
