Charges against nine Skid Row street people, arrested Jan. 2 for refusing to leave a demonstration on the plight of the homeless, were dropped by the Los Angeles city attorney’s office because the nine have already spent two to four days in jail. Three others arrested after the closure of a temporary Christmas-holiday tent city in the Civic Center are still due in court Feb. 19 to answer trespassing charges.
