A 32-year-old Sunland man died at Lake View Medical Center after suffering smoke inhalation during a fire at a Hillrose Street residence, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Paramedics found Mark Powell unconscious in a bedroom and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation before transporting him to the hospital, where he died several hours later.
