Roman Catholics hurled gasoline bombs at police, and officers fired plastic bullets in reply during rioting at the end of a Londonderry march marking the 13th anniversary of Northern Ireland’s “Bloody Sunday.” Police said that rioters lobbed at least 50 gasoline bombs but that no serious casualties were reported. On Jan. 30, 1972, British paratroops, saying they were fired on, killed 14 Catholics during an illegal civil rights march. An official inquiry later determined that none of the 14 had been armed.
