A freelance photographer was fined $1,000 and placed on probation for 18 months for failing to obey a policeman’s order to stop shooting pictures at an accident scene last year. A Whittier Municipal Court jury found Pat Olsen, 49, of Bell guilty of interfering with a rescue and failing to obey the lawful order of a police officer at the scene of an auto accident in Whittier. A paramedic for a private ambulance service and Whittier police testified during Olsen’s trial that the photographer interfered with their efforts to free a woman who was pinned in an automobile that had collided with a tractor-trailer. Olsen, who plans to appeal, testified that she obeyed police orders.
