UCI Defeats San Diego

UC Irvine, playing without No. 1 singles player Bruce Man Son Hing, defeated the University of San Diego, 7-1, in a men’s nonconference tennis match Sunday at Irvine.
In other nonconference action:
Chapman 8, University of the Pacific 1--Mark Fairchild beat Troy Turnbull in No. 1 singles, but the Panthers won the rest of their matches to defeat the Tigers at Stockton.
Chapman faces UCI on Tuesday.
