Two men were injured, one seriously, Friday as a result of what a San Clemente Fire Department spokesman said was a rupture of a valve on a pressurized helium pipeline. The men were working at the TRW Systems Group Capistrano Facility, an experimental installation in an unincorporated area in the hills north of the city.
Robert Andreis, 57, of San Clemente suffered extensive head injuries and was taken to Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo by helicopter. He underwent surgery Friday night and was listed in serious condition.
Robert Schnitzler, 54, of San Juan Capistrano was treated for minor injuries.
