Santa Ana Advances With Two Victories

The Santa Ana College women’s softball team won two games Friday to advance in the double-elimination Citrus College Tournament.
The Dons defeated Ventura, 8-2, in a first-round game as Chris Makimoto struck out nine and Sam Arledge went 3 for 4 with three RBIs. In a second-round game, Santa Ana beat Scottsdale, Ariz., 6-1, behind the two-hit pitching of Lani Silva. Lesa Godfrey was 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs for Santa Ana.
Santa Ana plays tournament host Citrus this morning with the winner going on to the championship game against either Scottsdale or Cerritos.
