Hearing Slated on Salaries:The Cypress School District Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing April 9 on a proposal by non-teaching employees for an 8% salary increase. Supt. William Calton said that board members have not agreed to the employees’ proposal but that they are not opposed to the idea of a salary increase. One facet of the proposal calls for employees receiving an automatic 2% pay raise after six years in the district as opposed to the current requirement of eight years. More than 100 classified employees, such as bus drivers and janitors, would be affected by the pay plan.
