Old Pacemaker Gives Dog New Leash on Life

AKRON, Ohio — Sister, an 11-year-old keeshond, was running around like a healthy dog today after receiving a heart pacemaker from a dead human.

The 38-pound dog is in excellent condition, said veterinarian Rod Ferguson, who performed the operation at the Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital Wednesday night.
