A black-garbed “funeral” delegation representing Yuba City--lowest-ranked metropolitan area in the nation, according to a Rand-McNally survey--presented a box containing the ashes of dozens of the company’s maps to a Rand-McNally executive in San Francisco. Russell L. Voisin, a vice president of the map publishing firm who had made a special trip from Chicago for the ceremony, accepted the ashes from Yuba City mortician Chuck McBride and commented that he felt the action “displays a good sense of humor from the city.” Ra18520556291953704992first.
