More than 60 Los Angeles and San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies resumed a search at daybreak today for a 9-year-old Lancaster boy who failed to return to his parent’s campsite in the Mojave Desert about 35 miles west of Victorville, authorities said.
The search for Michael Epson began about 7 p.m. Thursday, an hour after he was seen riding his all-terrain three-wheel motorbike near El Mirage Dry Lake, a flat, desolate area popular with off-road vehicle enthusiasts, authorities said. Deputies said they feared the boy had run out of gas. “We’ll continue the search until we find him,” a sheriff’s spokesman said.
