Preps HIGHLIGHTS : Kennedy Still Undefeated Behind Evans

Eric Evans pitched a two-hitter and improved his record to 3-0 as he led the unbeaten Kennedy High to a 9-0 Mid-Valley League victory over Birmingham Tuesday afternoon.
The junior right-hander struck out six and walked two, boosting Kennedy to a 7-0 season record and 3-0 league record.
Greg Synnott, who was 2 for 4, had a bases-loaded triple in the sixth, as Kennedy scored six to increase its margin to 9-0.
Kennedy’s Kevin Farlow, Greg Andrews and Todd Davis had two hits, with Farlow and Andrews each driving in a run. Catcher Sam Chaidez drove in two with a single.
Sylmar 10, Poly 4
Ron Ruiz did it all for Sylmar, hitting a three-run homer in the fourth and pitching the victory.
Ruiz struck out two, walked six and allowed seven hits in gaining his second victory in three outings.
Sylmar, 6-1 on the season, enjoyed a nine-run inning to come back from a 4-1 deficit in the East Valley League contest.
Calabasas 1, Santa Paula 0
A bases-loaded wild pitch accounted for the only run in Calabasas’ Frontier League victory. Scott Cadenhead, a sophomore right-hander, improved to 3-2 with a four-hitter. Calabasas is 8-4-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the league.
In the bottom of the fifth, Calabasas loaded the bases with a single by Jarred Ricco and a walk and infield hit by Greg Ruh before a wild pitch scored the game-winner.
SOFTBALL
Hart 6, Burbank 2
In a Foothill League opener for both teams, Hart improved its season record to 9-2 behind a three-hitter by Cyndi Smith (6-2).
