4 Valley Residents Win 2-Year Terms in Senior Assembly

Four San Gabriel Valley residents have been elected to the Senior Assembly, which is organized statewide to push for legislation benefitting the elderly.
Genevieve Dulany and Joseph Houseman, both of Monterey Park, Shirley Shaffer of San Dimas and Berlin (Bob) Metcalf of Azusa were elected to two-year terms.
About 3,900 senior citizens cast ballots in Los Angeles County, electing 15 Assembly members and five alternates. Marvin Grove of Pomona was named as an alternate.
Members of the Senior Assembly will meet in Sacramento in October to bring issues concerning the elderly to the attention of state legislators.
