FCA Chief Will Speak at Home Builders Dinner

William Popejoy, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the troubled Financial Corp. of America and American Savings & Loan Assn., will speak at Monday’s dinner meeting of the Home Builders Council of the Building Industry Assn. of Southern California.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Airporter Inn in Irvine. Dinner will follow at 7 p.m. Cost is $30 for the public, $25 for council members. Reservations are required.
Popejoy will discuss issues facing Financial Corp. of America and American Savings, its main subsidiary--including the effect the company’s survival will have on the nation’s home building industry.
