The Region : Rail Line Plan to Proceed

The Los Angeles County Transportation Commission has voted to move ahead with preliminary work on the Los Angeles-to-Long Beach rail line, despite objections that have been raised by the city of Compton, one of the cities through which the 21-mile line would run. During the next two weeks, the commission said it will work with Compton officials in hopes of resolving the city’s environmental concerns.
