Reine Mathilde Tops Field in Wilshire Handicap Today

A field of seven headed by Reine Mathilde was entered Friday to run in today’s $100,000-added Wilshire Handicap at Hollywood Park.
Reine Mathilde, who will be ridden by Bill Shoemaker, was assigned high weight of 123 pounds for the 1 1/16 mile race for older fillies and mares on Hollywood Park’s turf course.
Tamarinda, who will be ridden by Fernando Toro, was assigned second-high weight of 119 pounds.
Others entered were Red Ember, who will be ridden by Laffit Pincay and was assigned 116 pounds; Auntie Betty, Gary Stevens, 114 pounds; Johnica, Chris McCarron, 114 pounds; Salt Spring, Rafael Meza, 113 pounds; and Shane’s Girl, Rick Dominguez, 111 pounds.
If all seven entries go to the post, the total purse will be $109,100 and the winner will collect $64,100.
