Two teen-agers suspected of stealing a car in Bellflower led California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed, 250-mile chase that ended early this morning when they ran out of gas in Tulare County, authorities said. “They sure got good gas mileage,” CHP Officer Jim Taylor said of the unidentified youths, aged 16 and 14.
CHP officers found more than $1,100 in cash in the 1980 Plymouth as well as a dagger that may have been used in a robbery. Investigators were in contact with Los Angeles County sheriff’s detectives to determine whether the boys were involved in a robbery.
