Argentina requested, and was granted, a special session of the Organization of American States on Wednesday to consider what it termed new threats to hemisphere and Argentine security caused by the opening of a new British airport on the Falkland Islands. The airport, opened over the weekend by Prince Andrew, has an 8,500-foot runway and is intended to improve defense and promote tourism. In 1982, Britain defeated Argentina in a 74-day war over the islands.
