Kreisky Told of Risk, Cancels Visit to Israel

VIENNA — Former Chancellor Bruno Kreisky today canceled a trip to Israel after Arab friends warned him of a possible assassination attempt after he had helped negotiate a swap of Israeli and Palestinian prisoners.
Kreisky had been scheduled to leave today on an eight-day tour that was to have included speaking engagements at universities in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
