Faria Is Speedway’s Main Event Winner

Mike Faria of Colton won his fourth main event of the racing season Friday night in speedway motorcycle racing at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Faria, who won just one main event last season at Orange County, won both the featured match race and the four-lap main event Friday.

Faria bested Norwalk’s Kelly Moran by four bike-lengths in the main event. Keith Crisco of Whittier was third and Sam Ermolenko of Cypress was fourth.

Brea’s Shawn McConnell won his first race of the season at the fairgrounds with a victory in the handicap five-lap main event. McConnell beat Kurt Strommer (second) and Ermolenko, who finished third.
