Japan Defense Discussed

WASHINGTON — Japanese Defense Minister Koichi Kato held talks with Secretary of Defense Caspar W. Weinberger on Monday. U.S. officials said the two were expected to discuss bilateral military relations and Japan’s plans to spend more money on defense of Pacific sea lanes around its shores.
