So you have no conspiracy against Dixieland, and you’ve covered Sacramento’s Dixieland Jubilee in the past but not every year--you call that an answer to Lew Forrest (Calendar Letters, June 15)?
But if the Jubilee produced as much advertising revenue as the musical dreck, rock music and its illegitimate offshoots do, isn’t it possible that you would have covered the Jubilee?
And when has your jazz coverage even minutely commanded the space occupied by your rock reviewers? Of course, you have the numbers on your side in the form of youngsters who wouldn’t recognize real music if they heard it. And you have the megabucks on your side too.
