The manufacturer of Bendectin was exonerated by a Santa Clara County Superior Court jury of blame for birth defects in an 11-year-old boy whose mother used the prescription drug to combat nausea during pregnancy. The family of Marco Cordova of Watsonville had alleged in its suit that Merrell Dow Pharmaceuticals was responsible for deformities in the boy’s extremities.
