‘Cave-in on the <i> Contras</i> ‘

The House of Representatives has voted financial aid to the contras. That act makes the unofficial U.S. government policy to overthrow a sovereign foreign government official. No one can any longer seriously argue that U.S. foreign policy differs in any morally significant way from the foreign policy of the Soviet Union. We have become mirror images of each other. Thus any argument that the United States is morally superior to Reagan’s “evil empire” is mere cant.
