Halverson Will Head Builders Research Board

James M. Halverson has been elected president of the Construction Industry Research Board.
Halverson, who represents the Southern California Contractors Assn. on the board, succeeds William C. Schmidt as president. Schmidt, president of Schmidt Construction Co., represents the Engineering Contractors Assn. and will continue on the board as its immediate past president.
Halverson is president of J. A. James Construction Co. in Irwindale. The firm specializes in asphalt recycling and soil stabilization. Halverson has been involved in paving, grading and general engineering construction for the past 20 years.
John J. Clarke of Clarke Contracting was elected first vice president. He also represents the Southern California Contractors Assn. on the board.
