Men wielding sledgehammers and crowbars smashed their way into three jewelry stores at an Arcadia shopping mall this morning and escaped with at least $150,000 worth of gems and other valuables, police reported.
Investigators said that some maintenance workers and a delivery man saw the burglars drive away moments after the predawn break-ins at J. Herbert Hall, Slavick’s and Schaffer & Sons jewelers at the Santa Anita Fashion Park.
