An 8-year-old girl was drowned at the Raging Waters Amusement Park in San Dimas. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Sharon Renee Williams was at the park with her father, Larry Williams, of Pomona and disappeared while floating on an inflated raft in the “Wave Cove” attraction, which contains machinery to simulate ocean waves. Lifeguards, alerted by the girl’s father, cleared the pool and found the child unconscious in a spot where the water is more than 8 feet deep. Their attempts to revive her were unsuccessful.
