A Chula Vista man was charged with vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving Monday in connection with a collision that killed another Chula Vista man Sunday night.
Chula Vista police said the victim was Efrain Durozo, 42, of East Oxford Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene after his car, going west on East Palomar Street, was struck broadside at the Monserate Street intersection by a vehicle going south.
Police charged Leandro Avendano, 40, the driver of the other vehicle, after he was released from Mercy Hospital for treatment of a broken wrist.
