Senate Approves ‘Back in the Saddle Again’ Message for President

WASHINGTON — The Senate approved by voice vote Tuesday a resolution wishing President Reagan a speedy recovery from cancer surgery.
The resolution, offered by Senate leaders Bob Dole (R-Kan.) and Robert C. Byrd (D-W.Va.), was titled “Back in the Saddle Again.”
The resolution stated that the “Senate hereby expresses to President Reagan our heartfelt best wishes for a speedy recovery, our sincere admiration for his indomitable spirit, and our affection and esteem for him and Mrs. Nancy Reagan.”
