PHILADELPHIA — A New Jersey woman has pleaded guilty in federal court to bilking entertainer Ed McMahon of $180,000 while she worked as his bookkeeper.
Nancy Hedman, 34, of Stone Harbor, N.J., faces up to 20 years in prison, fines of $260,000 and restitution after her plea before a U.S. District judge. The plea came on two counts of transporting forged documents across state lines. Sentencing is set for Aug. 22.
According to a plea agreement, Hedman embezzled the money by writing checks on McMahon’s account and forging the signature of her employer, Lester Blank.
